Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - Super

John B. Marine | 11:59 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
Mission Races now are at the toughest and with the fastest cars. You went through four of them, and now the fifth and final set awaits you. Become a racing genius or fall. That is your choice. So let's make you a Champion, eh? New post ready to go!

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races

The Mission Races test your ability to pass cars while also clearing the course within a given par time. These events will make you try to drive properly while making sure to avoid making crucial mistakes. Passing a car or cars is only part of clearing the Mission Races. You need to try to pass your opponent(s) while also making sure to clear the course in a given time. So treat these Mission Races like License Tests. You can not earn any Stars for completion of Mission Races, but you can earn money for clearing each Mission Race. Try to earn Gold in each Mission Race if you can.

Each Mission Race consists of five events. The first four events are all section-based events using a certain section of the given facility. The final Mission Race is a lap-based event around a certain track. Success in the Mission Races involve overtaking vehicles while also clearing the course in a fast time. It is not, however, required you pass all the vehicles in the given run. You just need to clear the event as quickly as you can. If you commit any of these fouls during the course of a Mission Race:

• you completely leave the course
• you collide hard into a barrier
• you hit an obstacle (such as a cone)
• you collide hard into a rival car

...your run will be disqualified, and you must try that Mission Race again. If you fail to complete the Mission Race within the par time, you will not receive any award. So make sure to complete the race in time and try to complete it with a quick time.

GT6 Mission Races: The Series.

This section will be edited once all blog posts on each Mission Race set are all completed. Here is the series as slated:

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - National B
Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - National A
Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - International B
Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - International A
• Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - Super (YOU ARE HERE)

There are no Mission Races for the National License. Each of the above links will be edited as posts for each one is complete. You need to have a certain number of Stars in each level of racing in Gran Turismo 6 to unlock the Mission Races.

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races: Super

Gran Turismo 6 Super Mission Races
^ This final set of Mission Races may be challenging, but you can do it! Hang in there!

This is the last set of Mission Races. Let's complete them all!

S-1: Prototype Racing Car Battle.

Car: 1991 Mazda 787B
Course: Circuit de la Sarthe 2013
Mission Type: Section

Some question whether prototype sportscars or Formula 1 style cars are the best racing cars ever conceived. You will be racing the Mazda 787B, which won the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans, and at its time, the first Japanese manufacturer to win Le Mans outright. You will be racing the modern Circuit de la Sarthe ranging from the entrance of the Porsche Curves to the Start/Finish line in this Mission Race. Your four-rotor beast will be singing soprano style as you drive fiercely through this section. Just make sure to pass the other two cars you share the track with in addition to trying to clear this Mission Race. The Porsche Curves are tricky to navigate. Pick your spot carefully if you are trying to pass one of the two cars in this challenge. In fact, you may want to pass the first car during (or even after) the Porsche Curves rather than before entering the Porsche Curves. The rest of the way has a bunch of extra tricky kinks to unwind your car if you are not careful. Most importantly, try not to leave the course even with your monstrous Mazda.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 43.500
• SILVER: 45.000
• BRONZE: 49.000

S-2: Dream Car Battle.

Car: ???? Citroen GT by Citroen Race Car
Course: Special Stage Route 5
Mission Type: Section

Two-thirds of Special Stage Route 5 will be used in this Mission Race. You will be using the futuristic Citroen GT by Citroen on these city highways at night. Something to remember as you are weaving through the downtown buildings is that you are racing around a street course with fairly sufficient lighting and not too challenging corners. It will take a lot of patience on your behalf to try to properly navigate this city street course while also making sure not to whack the barriers on either side of the course or any of the two cars that share the track with you.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 50.500
• SILVER: 53.000
• BRONZE: 58.000

S-3: White Hot - Chamonix Showdown.

Car: ???? Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Rally Car
Course: Chamonix - Main
Mission Type: Section

Let's get one thing straight- this is NOT the Chamonix you are used to from Gran Turismo 4. The location may have returned, but the track is the same one you recall from Gran Turismo 5. Your mount this time is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in rally racing trim. Instead of dirt or gravel for off-roading, you are racing on snow and ice. Snow and ice have much less traction than dirt or gravel. You thankfully have a car that can take on these surfaces properly. So make good use of this Mitsubishi as you navigate your way around this treacherous, snowy French course. Three other cars are on the track for this challenge. Be careful when closing in on the other drivers as they kick up snow. You can draw in too close to where you can initiate car contact and end up being disqualified. Try to stay within the snow banks as much as you can. Finally, be extra careful taking on the tough set of corners before reaching the Finish of this section.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 1:09.500
• SILVER: 1:11.000
• BRONZE: 1:15.000

S-4: Close Combat - Battle at Brands Hatch.

Car: 2004 Lotus Elise 111R
Course: Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit
Mission Type: Section

You are back at Branda Hatch for another Mission Race. This time, though, you are using the Grand Prix course. You will be racing almost all of the Indy course before transitioning to the Grand Prix course. That is the makeup of this section. Your car is the Lotus Elise 111R. While it is not the best offering from Lotus, it is a plenty capable automobile for you to race around this section of Brands Hatch. It can be easy to make a mistake around this track, so make sure you keep mistakes to a minimum handling around this course while trying to pass the three other cars.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 40.800
• SILVER: 42.000
• BRONZE: 45.000

S-5: Old Meets New - Ford GT Showdown!

Car: 1966 Ford GT40 Mark 1
Course: Nürburgring Nordschleife
Mission Type: 1 Lap

This is the final Mission Race challenge. You must race one lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a Ford GT. People often call the Nordschleife as "Green Hell." To most others, it is driving Heaven. I already reminded you how much I love the Nordschleife in my International A Mission Race blog post, so let me just say you will enjoy this challenge if you love this track. This is a very long track with many corners and narrow roads. Matters won't be helped much considering you are racing a vintage sports car. It doesn't have the modern technologies and driving dynamics that your opponent Ford GT has, but you still have a capable racing machine that can lap this course fairly well. My biggest piece of advice to you- learn the track and learn the car. Don't focus on Gold until you have mastered both. To get Gold, you are going to have to be near perfect around a course that is almost 13 miles long with many corners getting in your way. Take your time. In addition to racing a brutally difficult race course, time is passing rapidly as evening becomes night. The race actually start at 15:00 (3:00 PM 12-hour time). You have SOME leeway in this race because you can actually go off-course and not be disqualified. Other than that, colliding with any barrier or the other car will disqualify you. Take advantage of this liberty especially if you are terrible at the Nordschlife like I am. Long story short... don't try to be a hero/heroine here. Just get to the finish line by any means necessary without getting disqualified. GOOD LUCK clearing this one- you're going to need it (and then some).

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 7:50.000
• SILVER: 8:00.000
• BRONZE: 9:00.000

If you cleared all of the Mission Races, congratulations! Your quest (at least among the Mission Races) is over. You can always go back to any of the Mission Races to improve your times.

This post concludes the set of Mission Races in Gran Turismo 6. I wish you well in completing all of these challenges. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - International A

John B. Marine | 11:49 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
Gran Turismo 6 is not going to get any easier now that you are in the International A Mission Race events. Polyphony Digital and Kazunori Yamauchi won't do you any favors in this one. Time again to demonstrate your racing skill in some tough Mission Races. I'll describe what to expect, your job is to clear each challenge to the best of your ability. Sounds good? Then let's go!

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races

The Mission Races test your ability to pass cars while also clearing the course within a given par time. These events will make you try to drive properly while making sure to avoid making crucial mistakes. Passing a car or cars is only part of clearing the Mission Races. Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races: International A

Gran Turismo 6 International A Mission Races
^ You're in some trouble now! Try to prove yourself in this set of Mission Races.

Let's see how great you really are with this set of Mission Races.

IA-1: Super GT500 Class Battle.

Car: 1997 Toyota Castol Tom's Supra
Course: Suzuka Circuit
Mission Type: Section

The Super GT series used to be known as the JGTC- the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship. You will be racing a car from the JGTC time around mostly Suzuka East. The course ends under the overpass of this Figure-8 (or "Figure of 8" as some call it) course. This class of car you are competing with is the GT500 class, in which cars are usually no more powerful than 500 brake horsepower. You are racing against two other GT500 class racing cars. Nothing comes easy at Suzuka. Got to earn everything. It may take a lot of work to try to pass both cars in this Mission Race. You can handle it, though, right?

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 47.200
• SILVER: 49.000
• BRONZE: 54.000

IA-2: Group GT3 Battle.

Car: 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3
Course: Nürburgring GP/F
Mission Type: Section

The next two Mission Races have you racing around the Nürburgring. I can tell you personally that I am NOT good at the Nürburgring. So I am not going to lie to you about how easy it is to race this course. Starting with this Mission Race, you will be racing the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 around a portion of the Nürburgring Grand Prix course. You will mostly be using the second half of this course ending after the chicane that leads onto the Pit Road entrance (or leading to the entry to the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring when any of the Nordschleife configurations are used). Regardless, the SLS AMG GT3 is a mostly a solid GT3 racing car, but it has a good deal of understeer dialed into its handling characteristics. Try to drive carefully and quickly to pass the other two cars.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 42.800
• SILVER: 44.000
• BRONZE: 47.000

IA-3: The Future's Dark - Nürburgring Battle.

Car: 2013 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport
Course: Nürburgring 24h
Mission Type: Section

NOW is the time to start quaking in your shoes (if you're wearing any) racing the Nürburgring Nordschleife. You can sort of think of this Mission Race as using the opening of the Nordschleife from the Grand Prix circuit as the starting point and then using the first segment of the Nordschleife like from the AMG Driving Academy in Gran Turismo 5. I am not good at the Nürburgring, and I am even worse around any configuration using the Nordschleife. So my advice is this- be thankful you have a car that can properly handle the Nordschleife instead of trying to use something like a Le Mans prototype or some high-end formula race car. The road narrows up and has some challenging corners when you race on the Nordschleife. Its narrow and twisty roads make this one of the most challenging courses in the world. It is recommended you try to learn how to race the Nordschleife proper before trying to take on this challenge. I loathe racing the Nordschleife, but I hope you will be able to clear this challenge as best as you can despite my whining.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 1:12.800
• SILVER: 1:15.000
• BRONZE: 1:19.000

IA-4: Ruling the Rain - Skirmish at Spa.

Car: ???? Skyline GT-R R34 Touring Car
Course: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
Mission Type: Section

For the first time, you not only have to deal with passing your opponents, but also dealing with Mother Nature. The legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium is the track you will be racing and under wet conditions. Racing in the rain means you must deal with having limited visibility and a loss of traction. Even having the most grippy racing tires will not guarantee you success in properly racing around this Grand Prix motor racing track. This Mission Race utilizes the Start/Finish line after the super-tight first corner. You are mostly racing the first half of Spa-Francorchamps in this challenge. Try to get Eau Rouge right followed by the two turns after the long romp after Eau Rouge. The most important thing to remember is that the track is wet with rain falling. Traction and racing discipline are musts to clearing this challenge and passing the other three cars on the track. You also must deal with rain water being kicked up while the other cars are on track. This will NOT be easy, so take your time and drive carefully.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 1:04.500
• SILVER: 1:07.000
• BRONZE: 1:11.000

IB-5: Old Meets New - Ferrari Showdown!

Car: 1971 Ferrari Dino 246 GT
Course: Apricot Hill Raceway
Mission Type: 1 Lap

You will not be able to complete the IA Mission Races unless you clear the previous four events along with this one. You will be racing the Ferrari Dino 246 GT, named for Enzo Ferrari's son, Dino. It is an absolutely beautiful classic car. You're racing a car from the 1970s, but your opponent is one of the latest (at the time of this game) Ferraris- the Ferrari 458 Italia. Remember Apricot Hill? You will be racing this track using your classic '70s sports car. Unlike the Mission Race under night conditions with the KTM, you will be racing this course in broad daylight, and you will also be racing a full lap around Apricot Hill. Try to keep the Dino 246 GT under control in the corners. You can easily spin this car out if you are not careful. I know full well because... this beautiful car that I love so much... happened to be the first car I rolled over and put on its roof in Gran Turismo 6. So take caution racing this thing!

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 1:45.500
• SILVER: 1:48.000
• BRONZE: 1:53.000

Another one down. Great job! But guess what? There's one more Mission Race set ready to test your skills to the extreme!

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - International B

John B. Marine | 11:24 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
By now, you probably realize the higher levels of Gran Turismo equate to tougher challenges. Well, International B Mission Races will be tougher than anything you've faced so far in the National level Mission Races. You still can take these events! Allow me to welcome you to the International level of Mission Races in Gran Turismo 6. I'll be here to introduce you to these challenging events.

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races

The Mission Races test your ability to pass cars while also clearing the course within a given par time. These events will make you try to drive properly while making sure to avoid making crucial mistakes. Passing a car or cars is only part of clearing the Mission Races. Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races: International B

Gran Turismo 6 International A Mission Races
^ Prepare to be tested on multiple levels here with multiple challenges here in the International B Mission Race set..

If you want to test your abilities further, be sure you're prepared for what is ahead of you in the International B Mission Races!

IB-1: Supercar Battle.

Car: 1994 Cizeta V16T
Course: Autumn Ring
Mission Type: Section

You were probably one of the ones who complained about a lack of real supercars in Gran Turismo 4 when you saw the Cizeta V16T. Or maybe you thought this was some fantasy car. Well, you're wrong on both counts if you felt this way before. This supercar actually exists and is a proper supercar. Put this supercar to good use by passing the opposing cars around Autumn Ring. You will be racing from past the Start/Finish line of the Autumn Ring Mini course to approaching pit entrance of the Autumn Ring main course. Autumn Ring is not an easy course. Screwing up is almost entirely too easy. So make sure to stay on the road as much as you can and try to find a decent line that will take you around the course properly. Also, make sure you properly handle this supercar around the corners of this twisty course.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 36.500
• SILVER: 37.500
• BRONZE: 41.000

IB-2: Historic Race Car Battle.

Car: 1966 Jaguar XJ13
Course: Circuit de la Sarthe 2013
Mission Type: Section

The course is modern, but the cars are not. Care is needed when racing an older car. This is your first Mission Race using a proper race car. The course uses the section between past Turn 1 of Circuit de la Sarthe to the tricky Tertre Rouge. You are battling two other classic beauties in this Mission Race. It will be tough passing both cars while trying to wrestle this Jaguar around this section.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 34.500
• SILVER: 36.000
• BRONZE: 40.000

IB-3: Kicking Up Dust - Battle for Toscana.

Car: 1986 Audi quattro S1 Rally Car
Course: Toscana
Mission Type: Section

From your first race car Mission Race, you now enter your first off-road Mission Race. You will be doing so racing a Group B rally beast- the Audi quattro S1. This course utilizes the end of the very long sweeping right to the long backstretch of Toscana. If you want to make it through this lovely Italian countryside course, you'd better utilize this Audi for all its worth. Remember that it takes a different set of skills to properly navigate a rally course. One thing to be careful of is trying not to get caught up in the dust being kicked up by the other three rally cars. Drive this course carefully and try to make timely and efficient passes.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 51.000
• SILVER: 53.000
• BRONZE: 56.000

IB-4: Motorsports Heaven - Battle for Ascari.

Car: 1992 Ferrari F40
Course: Ascari Full Track
Mission Type: Section

Ascari is a permanent race course in a Spanish resort. There also used to be a British car manufacturer named Ascari. You will be racing on the Ascari full course with a very popular and very powerful '90s supercar. Let the Ferrari F40 sing around this twisty and challenging race course. This Ferrari, however, is not very easy to handle. You can push its limits so much to where the back end can snap on you powering out of corners. So don't do anything too foolish to where you are unable to recover and pass the other three cars. Take your time on this one.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 43.300
• SILVER: 45.000
• BRONZE: 49.000

IB-5: Old Meets New - Lamborghini Showdown!

Car: 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706
Course: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
Mission Type: 2 Laps

This course has you racing one of my personal favorite Lamborghinis of all time- the Miura. The track you will be racing is Brands Hatch Indy. Since this is a fairly short course, you will be required to race two laps around this course instead of just one. This time, you are racing an OLDER car against a newer car. The Miura would stand no chance against the Aventador on long or fast tracks. Considering this track is fairly short, you might be able to pull a pass on the Aventador halfway around Brands Hatch on lap 1. Remember that getting Gold requires completing TWO solid laps around this course. So once you make the pass on the Aventador, continue to concentrate on utilizing the Miura's capabilities to successfully complete the Mission Race. Don't let that modern Lambo scare you! Oh, and remember- respect your elders.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 1:48.000
• SILVER: 1:50.000
• BRONZE: 1:56.000

Congratulations if you managed to clear these Mission Races!

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - National A

John B. Marine | 11:04 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
So did you manage to clear the National B Mission Races? Good! Well, guess what- you're not done yet! More of these Mission Races await you. You will be facing harder Mission Races now that you made it to the National A Mission Races. You must demonstrate your ability to pass opposing cars while also navigating the various courses you are doing these Mission Races on. So let's continue this series on Gran Turismo 6's Mission Races here on "John's Race Space!"

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races: National A

Gran Turismo 6 National A Mission Races
^ Some faster cars and tougher challenges await you once you reach the National A-level Mission Races. Are you ready?

Let's try to clear these Mission Races and prove you are a worthy Gran Turismo racing driver.

A-1: European Hot Hatch Battle.

Car: 2011 Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy
Course: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
Mission Type: Section

Using the first half of the Indy configuration of Brands Hatch, you will be racing a peppy French hatchback around this British circuit. Each corner and kink are tricky on this course, so you will need to drive carefully to avoid overshooting any of the corners on this track.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 29.500
• SILVER: 31.000
• BRONZE: 34.000

A-2: Classic Sports Car Battle.

Car: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Course: Circuito de Madrid
Mission Type: Section

If muscle cars are more your thing, then you'll love this challenge. Circuito de Madrid is a tricky, twisty street course. You will mostly use the second sector of this course. You will need to drive quickly if you want to pass the opponent car in this Mission Races. Try not be too intimidated by the barriers around this track.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 34.000
• SILVER: 35.000
• BRONZE: 39.000

A-3: Battle at 3,000 Meters - Matterhorn Challenge.

Car: 2001 BMW Z8
Course: Matterhorn Dristelen
Mission Type: Section

Time to take to the mountains of Switzerland for this challenge. This Swiss track is beautiful, and so is your car for this Mission Race- the BMW Z8. Do not underestimate the level of difficulty in this challenge. For you to succeed here, you need to deal with rather severe elevation changes. And unless you want your car to be part of the scenery, keep your eyes on the road and don't lose focus of trying to pass the other three cars.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 37.300
• SILVER: 38.500
• BRONZE: 42.000

A-4: Night Fight - Apricot Hill Under the Stars.

Car: 2012 KTM X-Bow Street
Course: Apricot Hil Raceway
Mission Type: Section

For the first time in the Mission Races in GT6, you will be racing at night. Nighttime can be entertaining seeing lights shine through the darkness and providing exceptional views. However, the added darkness will impair your judgment as you try to overtake opponents or properly clear corners. Keep these things in mind as you race this lightweight Austrian sports car. You will be using the backstretch of the original GT track Apricot Hill Raceway, which made its debut in Gran Turismo 2 and can be raced on in time/weather variable conditions in GT6. Pass carefully after the first corner, because it can be too easy to either go too deep into the first corner or whack one of the three cars you have to pass. Most important is to try not to cut the chicane leading to the Finish of this section. Hopefully you can handle this section properly.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 38.000
• SILVER: 39.000
• BRONZE: 44.000

A-5: Old Meets New - Stingray Showdown!

Car: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C7)
Course: Willow Springs International Raceway - Big Willow
Mission Type: 1 Lap

At first glance, Willow Springs seems like a fairly easy course. Once you race it, you realize just how tricky and challenging this race course in Southern California really is despite its seemingly simple flow. If you fall into thinking this is a simple course, you are going to pay dearly. So stay alert at all times as you complete one lap around the Big Willow configuration of Willow Springs Raceway while also passing your opposition. You will be racing America's sports car- the C7 model Chevrolet Corvette. Your specific one is the C7 Stingray. As your opponent gets a head start, you must try to overtake the other Corvette while also properly winding your way around Willos Springs. Try to overtake as quickly and efficiently as you can while also trying to navigate this tricky course properly.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 1:31.300
• SILVER: 1:33.500
• BRONZE: 1:38.000

This one's over. See if you can clear these challenges as best as you can.

Gran Turismo 6 Mission Races - National B

If you want to prove yourself as a racer in Gran Turismo 6, try the Mission Races. These events challenge you to take on pressure situations as you try to place as high as possible in them. Your ability to clear these challenges will help gauge you as a racer in Gran Turismo 6. To make the most of your skills, you must try to take on each course to test trying to clear each event. This is a series of blog posts devoted to the Mission Races of Gran Turismo 6.

About the Label: "Mission Races"

Gran Turismo races feature Mission Races, set to challenge your racing ability by passing opponents as well as completing courses as quickly as you can. Blog posts under this label feature these events for you to clear.

Take to the streets of London, England, UK racing a British sports car. London is a short city course. There is little room for error racing on city streets. Such courses have concrete walls on either side almost all the way around the course. A lot of city courses even have some very sharp corners. So you need to make your moves quickly to avoid having to go into an extended battle against rival cars. You must overtake three cars in this Mission Race.

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 35.000
• SILVER: 36.000
• BRONZE: 40.000

B-4: Where Should You Make Your Move? Bathurst Battle.

Course: Mount Panorama Circuit
Mission Type: Section

Mount Panorama Circuit is one of the most grueling race courses in the world. This semi-permanent Australian race course features very tight and grueling corners along with some severe elevation changes. This track is ANYTHING but easy. You will be racing after the first corner of Mount Panorama Circuit into the winding madness of these mountain roads. Take advantage of your Jaguar sports coupe to pass the other three cars you share the road with. This Mission Race will teach you overtaking discipline.

• GOLD: 37.500
• SILVER: 39.000
• BRONZE: 43.000

B-5: Nissan GT-R Showdown!

Your ability to clear this Mission Race depends on beating your opponent to the line while also posting as quick of a lap as you can. Can you score Gold?

TARGET TIMES:
• GOLD: 2:20.800
• SILVER: 2:22.500
• BRONZE: 2:27.000

That will do it. Hopefully you cleared all of these Mission Races to the best of your ability.
