Groups of Real Racing 3: How It Works

This section simply tells you how this all works and how I will be presenting this material. Read on to gain some instant perspective.

How These Posts Will Work.

Each post will be presented in the order of first page to last page, top left to bottom right. What you will see in each post is a look at the cars offered and an idea of what each series is about. These posts will be updated to reflect various changes. Many of these will either be from looking up sources or by my own progress through each game. I will not really share you how to access each series- you are essentially on your own here. I will not share every last individual race in these posts. "Real Racing 3" is too detailed for me to actually share decent information on each series and race.

Things to Remember.

These posts all indicate the different races available for each series. There are various tiers of competition within each series. You will need to earn a number of Trophies to unlock new tiers and new cars. Each tier can feature as few as one race and as many as three. Races that include Showcases are specifically meant for one specific car, and they include some kind of race or races along with a Time Trial. You must have DRIVE available to participate in Time Trials. If you have maxed out your car, you can compete as many times as you like in Time Trials. When some series are unlocked, separate smaller series also become available. Some of these smaller series don't appear until you unlock one specific series within each group. Therefore, you will be doing more racing than you really think you are doing. You obviously want to get Gold for each race. However, a finish of 3rd or better is all you need to unlock more series and cars. So concentrate early on getting 3rd or better and then improve upon your performance when you have a better car or when you have an upgraded car. You can always go back to races and series where you don't have all gold to yet. Progress at every 25% earns you R$ Bonuses and Gold. Complete the entire series with 100% completion to earn the maximum bonuses.

To fully complete a series, you will need to pick up every available car. Most cars require R$, but some require Gold. You can purchase cars you haven't yet unlocked by paying for them in Gold. When you unlock some cars, you may get to pick up certain cars for a discounted Gold price as a one-time offer. You may elect to buy R$ or Gold by using your own money if you are short on funds in the game. Packs are also available giving you both R$ and Gold. You would hate using your own money to earn virtual currency, but if that is what it takes for you to try to complete this massive game, then so be it. To find out what cars can only be bought with Gold, please visit this blog post of mine: Real Racing 3 - Gold Cars.

Since I am updating this material based on my own progress through "Real Racing 3," these posts may be updated regularly to reflect new changes or correct certain errors.

It is now time to kick this series of posts off proper. Get ready!

Real Racing 3: Master Group

I won't show you all of the individual races, but I will give you insight on the series you will participate in.

Groups of Real Racing 3 Master
^ Impressive performance and exotic supercars await you in the Elite group.

Ferrari Classics are featured on the Master Group. While Ferrari is great and all, don't forget about many other great cars featured in this category of races. You will start off with a set of bare bones performance cars that deliver incredible handling. You then will move up to eventually push those featured Ferraris to their limits.

You will unlock the Master races once you reach Level 30 in Real Racing 3.

Open Sky Challenge.

Cars Featured:
• Ariel Atom 3.5
• KTM X-Bow R
• Caterham Seven 620 R
• Ariel Atom V8

Even though none of these cars are insanely powerful or fast, these lightweight beasts are perhaps some of the best-handling cars money can buy. These cars are devoid of lots of body work. They do accelerate incredibly fast. 20 tiers of competition await you in this series. The Ariel Atom 3.5 will serve you well for a greater majority of the races. However, what you REALLY want is the Ariel Atom V8. You need GOLD to purchase the Ariel Atom V8, however. So purchase some GOLD packs if you are in a pinch. The Atom V8 is also an Exclusive Series car. So max this car out if you want to compete in the Exclusive Series as well as cremate the competition in this set of races.

German Grand Tour.

Cars Featured:
• Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
• Audi R8 V10 Coupe
• BMW Z4 GT3
• Audi R8 LMS Ultra
• BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R

Five cars from three German manufacturers comprise the German Grand Tour- a 22-tier series ready to test your patience.

This series becomes available as you unlock the Open Sky Challenge.

Grip Fiends.

Cars Featured:
• KTM X-Bow R
• Audi R8 LMS Ultra
• BMW M3 GT2 ALMS

The cars that race in this set of races have impeccable handling ability. Choose from two German race cars or one impressive Austrian performance car.

This series becomes available as you unlock the Open Sky Challenge.

Euro Supercar Duel.

Cars Featured:
• Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
• Bentley Continental Supersports

Two European exotics are offered, but only one can be better than the other. That is for you to decide when you race this series.

Redline: Origins.

This series features classic Ferraris. If you complete this series within its time limit, you can win a beautiful classic Ferrari race car.

Classic Ferrari Showdown.

Cars Featured:
• Ferrari F40
• Ferrari F50

Two jaw-dropping Ferraris of the 1990s are available for you to race in this series. You will be using the Ferrari F40 and the Ferrari F50 in this set of races. Feel the unmitigated fury of these Ferraris in this series as you try to complete all of the different races among the tiers of competition here.

You must clear "Redline: Orgins" to continue on with the Master group and this series of races.

GT3 World Series.

Cars Featured:
• Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
• Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 GT3
• BMW Z4 GT3
• Aston Martin Vantage GT3

It used to be that high-end, exotic, powerful GT racing machines were the finest racing machines. Since the mid-late 2000s, however, GT3 cars have become vastly popular. You will get to race four of the most popular GT3 race cars in the GT3 World Series in "Real Racing 3." GT3 cars are still great racing machines that are vastly capable and powerful- just not as powerful as the old GT1 and GT2 machines. They are still fun to drive and very capable.

6 Cyl Mastery.

Cars Featured:
• Porsche Cayman GT4
• Porsche 911 GT2 (2003)
• Lotus Exige Cup

Try your luck trying to race these three cars in this series. It's Porsche vs. Lotus with some capable and nimble machines.

Formula E: Showcase.

Cars Featured:
• ABT Schaeffler FE02
• NEXTEV TCR Formula 002
• Renault Z.E. 16

Whether you love or loathe Formula E, it has become one of the most interesting racing series this century. Formula E cars are 100% electric race cars. They make a distinct whine that almost makes them sound like remote control cars. Regardless, you will put these electric race cars through their paces with this series of races.

Open Sky Challenge II.

Cars Featured:
• Ariel Atom 3.5
• KTM X-Bow R
• Caterham Seven 620 R
• Lotus 3-Eleven

You may have fought valiantly in the first Open Sky Challenge. Now, take on this one. Open Sky Challenge II offers one new challenger with Lotus, but loses one of the Ariel cars. So you will have to try to contend with a new set of lightweight track demons in this series. And get to know that Lotus in this series once you get to unlock it.

Formula E: Experience.

Car(s) Featured:
• ABT Schaeffler FE02
• NEXTEV TCR Formula 002
• Renault Z.E. 16

Here is another helping of Formula E in Real Racing 3. The same cars from the other Formula E series are featured here.

Road vs. Rally

Car(s) Featured:
• Hyundai i20 WRC
• Lotus Exige Cup

Remember that Hyundai rally car? You can use that car again with this series. This time, though, you are matched up against a more track-worthy competitor with the Lotus Exige 360 Cup. This is the classic case of a rally car against a proper track car. And surprisingly, both machines are pretty competitive with each other. So don't think one side will clearly run away with the win.

This is a tough group, but you can handle this kind of pressure, right? Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.
